A family reunification application has two sides: the documents of the applicant in Turkey and the residence, income and housing documents of the family member living abroad are assessed together. Planning both sides at the same time prevents the most common delays.

Who can apply?

The spouse, minor children and, in some countries, dependent parents of a person holding a residence permit or citizenship abroad. Requirements vary by country and by the family member's type of residence.

Most frequently asked requirements

  • Language certificate: in countries such as Germany, a basic-level language certificate may be required for spouses.
  • Income and housing: the family member abroad is expected to have sufficient income to support the family and adequately sized housing.
  • Document legalisation: marriage and birth certificates require an apostille and sworn translation.

Process

In the initial consultation, we identify the country-specific requirements, prepare a separate checklist for each side and follow the file from the appointment through to the residence card.
